Live Poker isn't Rigged

...i'm just not at good at it as I thought.

I had my KK run into a flopped set of tens on a raggedy board early on...neutered my proud starting stack to a measly $75. After tripling up when AA turned a full house, I ran it to $550 in a straddled pot when I flopped a flush OOP. Led out + called a min c/r, c/c'd a PSB, then shoved the river. Valuetown, you goes there. Fare is $275, thank you come again.

Feeling cocky, I began to vaccuum the red nickels in front of me, ignoring my BB to create intimidating scarlet towers. The jealous throng finally convinced me to keep the game moving, and I check the napkins.

AcAd. Nuts throb with joy.

The four limpers in the pot look like absolue snack food. I cover them all, so I bump it to $16. This dissuades live donkeys very little. Three of them, OBVIOUSLY NOT FEARING THE POWERFUL IRON EAGLE, hee-haw their way to the flop.

Which come Tc 9c 7d. Fuck.

I bet $30 into the $46 pot. Zany comes along, a loose-aggressive, skilled player. He understands position and stack sizes, plays Omaha Hi-Lo, and never seems to shut up. Maybe he figures he can outplay me on this flop. Shit. 1 fold to Dumbo, who hasn't done much yet. He's got a real country-soundin' voice, dontch'yall know how we play dis hear game. I don't have a read on him.

Turn Kc. Effing F. Both players have about $100 left, and the pot has mushroomed to $156. However, I can't see their stacks, as they are hidden behind their cups. All I am seeing right now is the board that I am now WA/WB, and out of position on. Not even thinking about their stacks (which are fucking committed right now durrr). I check. They check.

River bricks a 5d. I'm pissed. OOP against two players? Can I lay this down? I resolve to check/call a small bet (still not thinking about stack sizes). Zany checks, insisting he has us both beat. Nothing new under the sun there. Dumbo quietly shoves all-in.

FUCK. I should call. I call if there is one person here. But Zany is still behind me! Would either check a made flush on the turn? I shit blood and fold. Zany calls, putting him all-in, and shows 8c8d, and scoops a huge pot.

the good: recognized a WA/WB situation, OOP in 3-way pot
the bad: didn't take stack sizes into account
the ugly:

I figured at least ONE of them had straight or flush. When Dumbo pushed in, I was thinking about Zany calling behind me -- never realizing that my equity doesn't change in that situation!! Calling the bet puts him all-in; he can't reraise me for any more of my stack.

I had pot odds of 7:1, and I folded. Live poker isn't rigged, I'M JUST A MORONNNNN
Comments:
what if I do it in BB?

8bb pot, I raise to 8bb. 3 callers make a 34bb pot to the flop. SPR is 2.5 (PERFECT FOR AN OVERPAIR).

I bet 15bb into the 34bb pot. (way too small). Two callers make it a 79bb pot.

turn: no action.

river: villain shoves 38bb into the 79bb pot. god folding is so fucking weak there....

Wait, if villain shoved basically 40 into 80 pot ur getting 3:1 on that call, not 7:1.

And you're not that WA/WB -- u have Ac there, so that's nice. Damn. If stacks are covered, feel to say, "MOVE UR KOOLAID BIATCH". I'd make it a point to do this on a hand where you want to check/fold earlier in the session, btw. There's a rule that players shouldn't do this, similar to hiding $100 chips in the back of your stack at $1/2. Bushleague.

That's tough....I mean I might actually be shoving the turn (not sure how much more they had behind) -- if called (them might have flush, set, straight, 2pr) you do still have outs. And what was your plan on the turn if they shoved; I'd assume you'd want to call (having Ac redraw). I think it would be better to just shove if the pot was 80bb and they each had 40bb behind (again, not noticing this info in your description).

Correct on 3:1, with one villain left to call behind after my action.

Incorrect on WA/WB, I am not on the turn, I am on the river.

This was around 1am, I was playing weak/tight and 1st level, just playing my cards, and not playing especially strong or aggressive, because I couldn't make hands/build image/capitalize on said image. Had to show some hands down first. The upshot was that I had JUST reprimanded myself:

"COLIN!! Start trying to put people on hands! Even if you're not in a hand, you should be observing player tendencies."

Then my butthole puckered when I saw the board with AA, and I didn't feel good about committing when I got two calls on the flop.

I didn't even THINK about stack sizes. Had I considered it, I would have just open-shoved the river, given that they both had less than a PSB behind.

I just found myself getting bored and tired really quickly with no action. It's the bane of us online players. Really had to push to make conversation, read people, and subseq. keep energy levels + attention span optimal.

Might be me, but I never use the terms WA/WB on river -- the only time you're not WA/WB is when you're tied, really.

Think of it this way, if you know you're going to get 2 calls on the flop, would you still have bet? Therefore, if you're not satisfied with getting value there, possibly you shouldn't have bet. Not saying your bet was right / wrong, but that question / concept will prove to be more useful in the future, esp. in HU pots. It gets more complicated with multiway pots.

I'd have shoved turn, IMO, not river. You might get value from TP w/ flush draw on turn. On the river they're just folding all of those missed flushes.

Oh yeah, I commented on your other 8 hands below.
